Committees  


Membership Committee:

  • Maintain a web site - www.greaterinwoodpartnership.org
  • Feature special GIP committees and projects
  • Organize general membership meetings and inform members
  • Promote the use of the Randall's Good Neighbor Number - 2374

Education Committee:

  • Identify and highlight pockets of excellence within the school district
  • Be the eyes and ears of the school district within the community
  • Sponsor a forum to establish a dialogue with school district administrators and educators
  • Honor excellence in education with an 'art esplanade' sculpture on Antoine Drive

Area Beatification Committee:

  • Continue to beautify by adding to the 378 trees and 2245 shrubs planted
  • Continue to add to the 170 tons of trash picked up from streets since 2000
  • Continue to find sponsors adding to the 41 esplanades already adopted
  • Continue to enforce ordinances dealing with bandit signs, commercial signs and roadside vendors

Flood Control Committee:

  • Monitor the permits issued for development in the GIP area to ensure developers comply with flood mitigation regulations
  • File oppositions to unmitigated development
  • Inform residents of developer violations
  • Organize residents to persuade elected officials to correct flooding problems
    Keep residents informed of the progress of Harris County Flood Control District project
